Legitimate Google Photographers
Make Sure You Are Working with a Legitimate Agency
Many people want to verify that their photographer really is from Google. This is a legitimate question because we all know there are plenty of people pretending to be Google to gain people’s trust. For this question, it is important to know that the Google Trusted Photographer program was created by Google to allow private photographers to create Google Virtual Tours for Google maps for them and benefit by being able to charge for their services. So in a sense, Google outsourced this photography of private businesses. The good news is that Google Trusted Photographers and Agencies have to go through training and meet all the requirements to be able to produce quality tours. They also connect directly with teams at Google to integrate the virtual tours seamlessly into the Google Streetview system and they essentially become part of Google Maps.
- Find the name of the company that is doing your tour (if they are an agency and work nationwide you’ll need to find their location as well).
- Go to https://www.google.com/streetview/contacts-tools/
- Look up the city they are located in
- Look for the name of the Company. If you see them there then you know they are a legitimate partner in the Google Trusted Photography program.
